Three Things a smart Trekking should do While Trekking Annapurna Circuit

Annapurna Circuit Trek
Annapurna Circuit Trek: Nepal Footprint Holiday

No doubt, Annapurna Circuit Trekking is the world's best hiking trail and Nepal's topmost popular trekking in Annapurna Region. The panoramic views of snow capped mountain peaks, lush vegetation of Annapurna Conservation Area, typical village lifestyle, traditional cultural highlights and the diversity of flora and fauna are the major highlights of Annapurna Circuit Trek. If you are planning for getting round the world's highest mountain peak, then visit Nepal this season. Nepal Footprint Holiday Treks arranges the around Annapurna Trek throughout the year with the best guides and equipment.

While trekking to Annapurna Circuit, you must be careful to some issues related to responsible tourism and here are the thing that you should keep in your mind.

Conserving the flora and fauna
Cutting of trees inside the conservation area is not allowed so firewood may be brought from elsewhere for your luxury. Hot showers are managed from firewood so do not spend time in the guest house rather you can take bath in the natural hot springs in Jinhu.

Minimize pollution
As much as possible, try to keep your garbage with you and dispose it off when you leave the conservation area. Places like Pokhara have a better waste and recycling programme and do not require locals and horses to bring trash down the mountain. Please don’t buy plastic water bottles. Take one or two bottles with you and buy water purification tablets before you leave. Most tablets will purify 1l of water in around 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can buy boiled water from your guesthouse for around Rs 50. Try to use toilets whenever possible. Most guesthouses will let you use their toilets free of charge, but remember to bring your biodegradable toilet paper as they won’t have it. If a toilet is not available, make sure you relieve yourself at least 30 m away from any water source.

No to bargaining
Food prices are fixed and set according to altitude. As you climb higher, so does the price of the meals. Respect the prices and don’t try to bargain when it comes to food.

Being immersed in the nature of the Annapurna region of the Himalayas is a truly unique experience. You have the opportunity to experience culture unlike anywhere else on Earth. It is important that visitors do their part to keep the mountains beautiful for locals and other trekkers for years to come.

Trekking in Nepal is possible at any time of the year depending upon the region where you want to go. But for the successful trekking holidays, you should be aware of the weather and altitude that would make your trekking experience unforgettable.

Autumn Season is the best time for trekking in Nepal in Himalayas as the weather and climate during this time is excellent after the monsoon rainfall stops to view the mountains.  All the major peaks and mountains are visible even from a distance at far. It is the busiest time for adventure holiday to Himalayas as you will have opportunity to meet with the other backpackers from another country all over the world. The biggest festivals Dashain and Tihar fall in this season so you will have a different experience with the culture and traditions of Nepal. Starting from mid September to early December, Autumn season is the peak trekking season in Nepal.

If you are traveling to Nepal and going trekking to Nepal Himalayas, you need to book a package on July and august. During the September, most of the flights and hotels are booked earlier so you wouldn't get the ticket and room in September, October and November.

Trekking in Nepal During Monsoon Season

Upper Dolpo Trekking during Monsoon Season
Upper Dolpo Trekking during Monsoon Season

Trekking in Nepal can be undertaken throughout the year depending upon the altitude and area of trekking. However, Autumn and Spring seasons are the best time for trekking to Nepal Himalayas.

While you are setting plan for trekking in Nepal, we suggest for autumn and spring season but if you have limited time and want to trek during monsoon/summer season, we will suggest you trekking to rain shadow areas like Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Dhaulagiri region, Annapurna region and Manang.

Nepal Mountain trekking is not popular during the monsoon time to the popular trekking regions of Nepal but don't worry, there are many positive things that the monsoon season offer for you. National Paddy Day, some popular festivals, clear sky after the rain, green and lavish environment are the best things that you will explore during your visit to Nepal in monsoon season.

Trekking in Nepal

From June to September, there is heavy rainfall generally in low altitude including Kathmandu and Pokhara valley. But in high altitude Himalayas, the rains are lighter and clear sky after the rain. But sometimes the mountain peaks are not often visible due to clouds.

Due to leeches and very slippery trails, trekking is not possible during rainy season in Nepal. But some easy and low risk trekking trails like Ghorepani Poon Hill, Helambu, Everest Panorama Trek, Kathmandu Valley Trek can be undertaken anytime of the year in Nepal.
