Trekking in Nepal can be undertaken throughout the year depending upon the altitude and area of trekking. However, Autumn and Spring seasons are the best time for trekking to Nepal Himalayas.

While you are setting plan for trekking in Nepal, we suggest for autumn and spring season but if you have limited time and want to trek during monsoon/summer season, we will suggest you trekking to rain shadow areas like Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Dhaulagiri region, Annapurna region and Manang.

Nepal Mountain trekking is not popular during the monsoon time to the popular trekking regions of Nepal but don't worry, there are many positive things that the monsoon season offer for you. National Paddy Day, some popular festivals, clear sky after the rain, green and lavish environment are the best things that you will explore during your visit to Nepal in monsoon season.

Trekking in Nepal

From June to September, there is heavy rainfall generally in low altitude including Kathmandu and Pokhara valley. But in high altitude Himalayas, the rains are lighter and clear sky after the rain. But sometimes the mountain peaks are not often visible due to clouds.

Due to leeches and very slippery trails, trekking is not possible during rainy season in Nepal. But some easy and low risk trekking trails like Ghorepani Poon Hill, Helambu, Everest Panorama Trek, Kathmandu Valley Trek can be undertaken anytime of the year in Nepal.
