World’s Largest Thangka exhibition in Nepal

World's largest Thangka painting is set to go on exhibition in three cities in Nepal. The thangka painting measuring a whooping 70 m by 50 m will be displayed at the Dashrath Rangasala stadium in Kathmandu, at Lumbini Garden in Lumbini and at Basundhara Park in Pokhara. The thangka is currently housed in Japan and will be displayed in Nepal in November.

It has been previously displayed at the Rangashala in october 2012. The exhibition has been organized by the Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Council for Preservation of Buddhist Religion in association with Japan based (NPO) M21 network.

The announcement about the coming exhibition was made during a press meet organized at Nepal Tourism Board on Thursday. The event saw the presence of Surya Bahadur Thakali, Chairperson of the Nepal Council for Preservation of Buddhist religion, Yasutada katagiri, Chairperson of (NPO) M21 Network and the event co-ordinator Prabhat Rimal along with the journalists and thangka enthusiasts. The Thangka depicts the life story of Lord Gautam Buddha summarizing the life cycle of Buddha in twelve deeds.

This kind of event would help Nepal Tourism in promotion around the globe and convey the message that Nepal is safe for travel.

Today is June 21st and its the time of year again where thousands of dogs are consumed annually as the name of Yulin Dog Meat Festival held in Yulin, Guangxi, China. The festival spans about ten days starting from 21st June to 30 June. Dog meat consumption has began over 400 years ago in China. At the time of celebration of festival throughout the 10 days, dogs are paraded in wooden crates and metal cages and are taken to be skinned and cooked for consumption.

Nepal climbing Season Closes - Mt Everest records 456 south summits, five deaths

With the closure of the spring 2016 climbing season, 199 foreigners from 29 countries and 257 Nepalese climbers successfully scaled Mt Everest; Department of Tourist states.

DoT had issued climbing permits to 289 expedition members, along with 457 high-altitude workers representing 34 teams in the season.

Five deaths was recorded this spring while 456 climbers successfully climbed world's highest mountain - Mt. Everest.

Two Indian climbers – Balkar Singh, 19, and Stanzin Laskit, 18, were the youngest male and female summiteers this season, respectively, the DoT data shows. Youngho Heo, 62, from South Korea and New Zealander Lydia Margarate Bradey, 55, became the season’s oldest summiteers in male and female categories, respectively.

Among the 45 female climbers who summited the mountain while Maya Sherpa became the only woman summiteer of the season from Nepal.

On May 19, 209 climbers scaled the mountain on a single day, DOT's official Gyanendra Shrestha said.

It was a successful season for the mountaineering after the Avalanche on Everest on 2014 and massive earthquake on April, 2016

Manaslu circuit trekking is about 14 to 20 days start from Arughat bazaar, you can trek without any doubt from very low altitude 600mtrs  to the high pass (Larkya La 5200m) with in 10 to 12 days hiking through the ancient villages to the mountain range. Rest of days, you will straight trek down to Annapuran Circuit trek route through the dens rhododendron forest and trek back to Bashishar.
The circuit of Manaslu trekking route also effected from the grand earthquake 2015, many of villages, Buddhist monasteries, temples, family houses and guest houses and walking trail damages.  But, after few months, slowly the lifestyle getting normal and tourist are continue starting to walk around the manaslu circuit trek every day. Most of areas guest houses were already repaired and rebuild.  It is the only trek route of Nepal, which is very quickly open for tourist with their safety and comfort stay in local guest house with catering series especially after the earthquake.

Day 1: Drive to Arughat  - Soti Khola. Simple Guest House with catering service.
There are every morning  local busses going from nearby Centeral Bus Park, Gongabu.  This bus journey takes at least 8 to 9 hours if the road condition is good. Otherwise may take longer to. The busses are always busy by locals and stop many places to take of people.

The easy option is taking a jeep drive by privately. They pick up from your hotel and drive more safe with comfort. The road is bustling and takes about 6 to 7 hours by Jeep.

Day 2 to day 6 : Trek along the Budhi Gandaki Grand Cannyon via Mach Khola, Jagat (Enter the Special Trek permit area), Dyang, Namrung to Samagoan via Nubri Valley.

Day 7: A Exploration day to Manaslu Base Camp hiking. Stay always in simple and clean family owned guest house with fresh cooked local food and drinks service.

Day 8: Hiking the the last village of Nubri Valley  - Samdo. It is the nearest village from Tibet border. Small tiny Gurung and Sherpa Village with the best view of whole valley to the Larky La pass. Guest House.

Day 9: High Altitude walk to Dharmasala (The Larkya Phadi) only take 3 to 4 hours,  Very basic lodge and food service.

Day 10: Cross the Larkya La pass from the corner of MT. Manaslu and Larkya Peak. (The highest pass of the Manaslu circuit trek and longest walk to). Trek down to Bhimtang. Guest house.

Day 11: Green forest rhododendron trek to Dharapani and join to Annapurna circuit trekking trail. Exit from Maanslu Circuit trek. Guest house.

Day 12: Trek along the Marshyangdi river valley to Jagat village in Annapurna circuit trail via tal village. Guest house.

Day 13: By taking local jeep drive to Bashishar about 3 to 4 hours and another drive to Kathmandu 6 hours.

Note: Above itinerary is not for all level people.  At least you need to walk 6 to 7 hours per day. If you are looking some extra day trips and walk slow or enough time for long hiking, you can customized your trip plan like this plan in the links.

It is great to announce all the people who love to make a Holy yatra to Kailash mansarovar in this year by taking Bus via Kerung border and Jilong Tibetan city. The official notice from IPSC (Indian Pilgrimage Service Center of Tar) notice and announce that the holy tours will open from mid of July for the Pilgrimage purpose to Kailash  mansarovar. It is not only for the Indian tourist but also will open that border for all the tourist purpose.

Kathmandu - Kerung - Joilong (About 181km)  is new travel route along Langtang National Park, which open recently. Kerung is the border  after 17km drive from Syabrubashi and is called Rasuwagadhi. where Chinese Railway connecting to Nepal within few years. China Tibet railway had already working on that train route and it will finished the train route from Sigatse to Jilong  till next year according to Chinese Government.


Jilong is a Chinese Tibetan name of Kerung after 24 kms drive from Rasuwagadhi Friendship bridge. Was a small Tibetan farmer village on the shadow of Himalayas and now it developed as a new Chinese City for trail station Hub port between Nepal and Tibet.  They already established many hotels and guest house for the tourist.
